Department of Management at BBD NITM organized its Management Fest UDGAM on 19th and 20th of October, 2012.
UDGAM is one of the biggest management fest of B-Schools in and around Lucknow.
The Aim of this fest is to provide exposure of real world competition to the student of Management through a series of activities involving real time problems and solving those with managerial skills.
UDGAM 2012 achieved to attract National Level Technical and Management colleges from other state also.

At Department of Management in BBD NITM, throughout the year different activities are organized by students in group that works together to arrange, organize, co-ordinate and conduct different activities.
Every student is assigned a club like Finance Club, Marketing Club, Human Resource Club and Entrepreneurship Cell Club that works independently for managing all the events, seminar and workshops.
The purpose of inculcating these type of activities is to enhance the managerial skills and developing team work attitude for greater success in real time world.

Entrepreneurship Cell
Entrepreneurship cell organized an event focusing on how individual can be an entrepreneur by self efforts
Under this cell “SABJIWALA” drive was done by the students of MBA in different part of Lucknow city to know how the market dynamics works for perishable goods (SABJI Market).

Department of Management actively takes part in different activities at college and city level from time to time.
Students of MBA II year showed their knowledge caliber at ICCMRT annual fest PARWAZ 2013.
Students showed their mettle by competing to different management colleges of lucknow in different events organized and won prizes, in events like RJ Hunt, Debate Competition, HR Game, Marketing Warfare, Group Singing, Sports Event.

1. A National Seminar on Computational Paradigms for Tomorrow organized on 24th & 25th Feb 2011
· Speaker Dr. Devi Singh Director, IIM, Lucknow, is a well known Professor in the area of International Finance & Management. He holds Ph.D. in International Finance from Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad). Shared his view that this physical universe may be usefully thought of as a simulation or a dynamical information space that is created by a simulation program that is operating within a transcendent computer.

2. Professor Richard R. Ernst of ETH Zurich on March 6, 2011
· Speaker Professor Richard R. Ernst of ETH Zurich shared his contributions that led to the development of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

3. Interactive Session by Dr. Kiran Bedi – IPS officer and Magsaysay Award winner at IIMA
· Students participated and attended interactive session by Dr. Kiran Bedi at IIMA

4. Interactive Session by Deep Kalra (Founder & Chief Executive Officer of MakemyTrip.com)
· Started with the aim to empower the Indian traveler with instant booking and comprehensive choices, it has made online travel booking a common practice among Indians who until lately were inclined to research online while they only trusted traditional modes of payment for making payments.

5. Seminar on “Shaping Young Minds” – Lucknow Management Association (LMA)
Lucknow Management Association (LMA), a premier professional management body in North India (a registered society established in 1976) arranged a seminar to equip trainer/faculty/mentor with tools & techniques to shape young minds.

6. LMA convention 2010 – Urbanization in India organized by Students of BBDNITM
Basic feature of urbanization in India can be highlighted as:
· Urbanization occurs without industrialization and strong economic base
· Urbanization is mainly a product of demographic explosion and poverty induced rural – urban migration.

7. Internal Seminar on career planning

1. Organized regional round of National Level Business Simulation championship – National Business Olympiad at Lucknow in collaboration with IIM -Ahmedabad

· Won 1st prize in Print Media Campaign Design Contest 2010
· Won 1st prize in Case Enova – A Case Study at IIMA –Students represent BBDNITM at IIM Ahmedabad, secured 1st prize.
· Lucknow Champions – MBA, BBDNITM
· Secured 16th position at national level.

2. Biz Quiz – Manfest 2011 – IIM Lucknow on Saturday, 22 January 2011
Students represent BBDNITM at IIM Lucknow, BBDNITM team won 2nd prize in ‘make a pitch’, A business idea contest.

3. Electron Quiz 2010 – NTPC
Regional Champion in Lucknow region beating few teams from IIM-L.
8th at National Level beating many B-schools of India.
Team from BBDNITM secured 2nd and 3rd position in the regional round. Winners were awarded with I-Pod and cash prizes

4. Abhivyakti – Inter B-Schools Competition at SRMCEM Lucknow
Students represent BBDNITM at Abhivyakti and won 1st prize in Ad Mad Show.

5. YUVA student’s fest
· Students represent BBDNITM at Yuva fest, and participated in various extracurricular activities.

Finance club is meant for all round understanding of students about finance / Economics and its impact on Market and Companies. Finance club is represented by students and guided by experienced faculties /professionals. The club will touch upon all aspect of financial gamut starting from micro to macro level i.e. from company level to country level. Besides this, the club will be involved in giving consultancy /research to the upcoming / small scale industries and giving them basic understanding of finance. Finance club will also has collaboration with D.I.C. (District Industries Centre) for giving consultancy to small scale industries and small companies.

PROJECT MENTORING
Every semester finance club conduct mock trading session in and around campus these session is like in club simulations of the trading floor of B.S..E & N.S.E.
D.S.E.S. (department securities exchange simulation) is brokerage program through which you can build a portfolio from 1 million fake rupees

Activities under Marketing Club
Marketing Club is mentored by Prof Sanjay Kumar

Marketing club has been introduced to enable students to become Industry ready professionals. In order to fulfill this, students of marketing club under the mentorship of core marketing faculty members envisioned to conduct marketing events and activities such as Marketing Quiz, Case Study competitions, guest lectures on emerging marketing trends, industry interactions through leadership series, industry analysis competition for all the MBA students of BBDNITM.

Brand quiz
The brand quiz had questions such as logo identification, tagline identification, identification of advertisements based on TVCs (Television commercials, Print Advertisements, Jingles etc).
This activity was an ice breaker session for students to know about the upcoming events of marketing club.

Activities under HR club
“ ETHOS”

Efficient and effective Human Resource management is a challenge to all HR professionals. Staffing, training and helping to manage people so that the organization is likely to increase the performance level is imperative to work in a productive manner. With this vision “Ethos” has initiated few activities which would root in students the core competencies required to take up an HR profile in future. The group functions under the guidance of Ms. Monica Kapuria and Ms. Ashi Chandra to bring so as to extract best out of their students. To line few activities taken up

under Ethos are summarized as under:-
A session on personality traits/types and their impact on others.
Barriers to communication- with the aid of few games like Chinese whisper, students were made to understand how information gets transformed and dilutes, leading to disastrous effects in an organizational set up thereby breaking the importance of the message conveyed.
Team building sessions and developing an ability to work in groups exhibiting interpersonal skills- since in an organization employee’s work in a team thereby familiarizing the students with working culture and dynamics of an organization.
